#GivingTuesdayMilitary: A Wave of Kindness

Military families are called to service, and giving is something they do on a daily basis, often without thinking and almost always without recognition or reward.

So, when a group of military spouses decided to take that giving mindset to a broader audience, the movement quickly caught steam. Giving Tuesday Military is a movement that is not about money, but instead, it is about giving time and doing - something we all have the ability to share regardless of age, situation or circumstance.

The ability to be kind to others is a concept that spans across the differences between us and can serve to unite us. Military families are a small minority of the population, but together they have a powerful voice and Giving Tuesday Military is an incredible way for military families to reach out and serve others. It is the opportunity to bridge the gap that can often exist between the military and civilian community, and provides an avenue by which everyone can work together as a united front to bring a little joy and hope into the world.

The spouses behind this movement are encouraging service members, veterans, military families, patriotic supporters, and all those affiliated with the military to perform 1 million acts of kindness on December 3, 2019.

Take a picture of that act of kindness or make a post describing the act of kindness and then post it to social media with the hashtag #givingtuesdaymilitary so these actions can be tallied with the goal of one million acts of kindness on 12.3.19.

No act of kindness is too small - from carrying someones groceries, holding a door open, or sharing a smile with a stranger. The goal is to be intentional and focus on the mindset of being kind toward others - a mindset that would benefit us all on a daily basis. We all talk about making the world a better place, well this is a very simple way to start - simply join the movement and BE KIND!

Be sure to tune into the Kelly Clarkson Show on December 2nd to hear Jessica Manfre, Samantha Gomolka, and Maria Reed share about how three spouses, a little heart, and a bit of elbow grease set out to change the world!
